Ryan P. Hester
M.D.
I consider it an honor and great responsibility to care for patients. I appreciate the trust I am given
and do not take it lightly. These beliefs serve as a foundation for my practice as an otolaryngologist. I am very
happy to have joined Eastern Virginia ENT after several years of private practice on the Peninsula. I have lived on
“the Southside” for nearly 14 years nows and am thrilled to finally work in the community in which I live.
I attended medical school, surgery internship, and residency in otolaryngology at Eastern Virginia Medical
School after completing an undergraduate degree at University of North Carolina in Greensboro.
I practice a full range of otolaryngology but particularly enjoy practicing allergy, sinus and nasal surgery,
thyroid surgery, and the care of pediatric patients. I embrace and seek out new technologies including image-guided
sinus surgery, nerve-monitored thyroid surgery, and balloon sinuplasty.
Dr. Ryan Hester completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and earned his
medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then went on to complete a general surgery inernship and
a residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at EVMS. He is board certified in Otolaryngology and is currently
also serving as an Assistant Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter as well as boating and offshore fishing.
